Podcasts and file management

With the flurry of podcasts being downloaded and saved, I’ve consumed better than 9 gigs of podcasts. Mind you, there may be more as these are only the ones that are “genre’d” as a podcast and determined by a simple smart playlist.

This wouldn’t be terrible, if I had plenty of HD space. Well, that’s just not the case anymore. Having 10 – 20 gigs of free space just isn’t what it used to be.

Time to go through and clean out those podcasts that I gave a few listens to, but have ultimately dropped my subscription to.

The Mixing Bowl nearly eliminates Audio Hijack

For quite some time I’ve been using Audio Hijack to grab audio streams from Solid Steel Radio (the Ninja Tune guys) and BBC Radio (Essential Mix, Breezeblock and One World). I’m a sucker for a DJ mix.

Somehow I stumbled upon The Mixing Bowl, and I have to say, these guys rule. And even an RSS feed.

Just another reason to give this app a try. Not to mention that you can set the incoming genre as a “podcast”, which is worth the price of admission, alone.
