Crate diggin’ – Vintage Def Jam

March 26th, 2006

Let me preface this by saying my crate is a stack about 6 inches deep.

Over the years I’ve sold most of all the great import cd’s I had from working in record stores, but I have kept a short stack of vinyl. Just a few things that I couldn’t just get rid of. Vintage Def Jam. In this case circa 1985 – DJ004 – MCA and Burzootie. I don’t think I’ve even listened to it, at least not in the last 20 years.

From Beastiemania.com write up:

The Adam “MCA” Yauch – Jay “Burzootie” Burnett collaboration known as the Drum Machine 12” (DJ004) was released exclusively on vinyl in 1985. Over the years it has remained one of the rarest and most sought after Def Jam releases.

A nice surprise.

Wild with a “pondcast”

March 2nd, 2006

Back from February 9th in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal:

The Minnesota Wild will begin offering podcasts on the team’s Web site,…. The “PONDcasts,” as the team is calling them, will be posted weekly at www.wild.com….

PONDcast? I think more of Bass Pro Shops than Minnesota Wild hockey. Ah, well – nice to see them providing a service to the fans and community. I’m subscribed.
